Faculty of Material Technologies and Textile Design

For a long time the Faculty of Material Technologies and Textile Design has been known as Textile Faculty.
The Faculty was founded in the academic year 1947/48, as the fourth faculty of Technical University of Łódź. 
In 2001 the name of the Faculty was changed to Faculty of Textile Engineering and Marketing, which was to fully reflect the educational profile and market demand.
Then the educational offer of the Faculty was further extended, and more attention was paid to subjects concerning biomaterials, nanocomposites, 
wearable electronics and advanced human-friendly material technologies. Specialists in these areas, educated at our Faculty  will be most in wide demand at the labour market. 
In 2008 the name of the Faculty was changed again into Faculty of Material Technologies and Textile Design. The new name comprises modern trends in industrial design,
 innovative technologies and materials.
The Faculty currently employs 96 academic teachers, including 13 professors and 10 staff members with a post doctorate degree. 
High quality of education offered by the Faculty in Textile Engineering has been confirmed by 2 accreditation commissions:
" State Accreditation Commission
" Accreditation Commission of Technical Universities.
