Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering
The Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering, established in 1945 under the name of "Electrical Faculty", is one of the three oldest faculties at the Lodz University of Technology (TUL), and one of the largest engineering faculties among all Polish universities. The Faculty is an employer to ca 250 academics, 24 of whom have been awarded Polish state professorial title and 28 who are holding the TUL professorship. The staff members are active in research and teaching in the fields of electrical engineering, electronics, control engineering and robotics, computer science and engineering, as well as related disciplines and interdisciplinary fields, such as telecommunications, transport, power engineering, mechatronics and biomedical engineering. Students can choose curricula taught in Polish from within 9 majors. In addition three BEng and MSc courses are offered in English at TUL's International Faculty of Engineering (IFE). The Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering as well as the courses have been awarded by Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA). By 2012 more than 3000 BEng and 9000 MSc students graduated from the Faculty; more than 517 and 100 researchers have been awarded the PhD and D.Sc respectively. More than 4000 students are enrolled in various types (full-time, evening, extramural) and levels (engineering, master, doctoral) of study at the Faculty. The study curricula and student laboratory facilities all comply with very high international academic standards. Study programmes are designed using the rules of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). There are more than 1000 computers with Internet access available to students of the Faculty. The Faculty collaborates extensively with many universities from around the world and organizes student exchange programmes with European universities. Students can become members of 12 scientific clubs. The faculty also offers interfaculty studies of Occupational Safety Engineering which is coordinated by the Faculty of Process and Environmental Engineering.
